From Delirium Films associate, Marco Aluia:

The
313techno documentary, originally produced for PBS went through many
different completion phases since our local WDTS had decided to screw
us by "Pan & Scanning" all the 16:9 footage into 4:3. Meaning they
were intent on releasing it locally on the non-HD broadcast instead of
the national HD broadcast deal origianlly negociated. Subsequently they
also aired raw footage as part of a different producers project and
gave no credit to our Cinematographer, Director or Producer who had
actually acquired the footage. This kind of shady dealing is the type
of business dealings that has been the demize of what once was a
vibrant public television production community in Detroit.

Nevertheless,
a generous distribution company in Japan recognized the potencial of
the documentary and provided completion funds in exchange for exclusive
distribution rights in east Asia. With this new funding the project has
been completed and released in theaters in Japan - it is also slated
for DVD release of a Japanese version in April of 2008.

Soon
after the Japanese DVD release you can look for the Domestic USA
release & European release in Summer of 2008. Check the website, www.313techno.com for more information.

From Idiosynchratic Productions (Alan Contino’s Independent production firm):

At
long last!! "Kill Joi", the experimental feature film written,
directed, produced, & edited by Alan has gone back into
Post-Production. After 10 years of struggle with 6 different composers
who were not up to the monumental task of creating a soundtrack for the
film, an unfortunate soul has dedicated several months of his life in
creating an original, experimental composition for Kill Joi.

With the new soundtrack nearing completion, the project has been taken on by Delirium Films
to release. Once the film has reached its final cut, it will be
distributed to independent theaters and film festivals around the
world. Check back here by the end of fall 2008 for more information
about screenings.
